Last week I shared a card I just really wasn’t loving.
Today, I tried to salvage the stamped images I had done. I die cut them with a die from Papertrey Ink, doing some partial die cutting and cutting the paper twice. The more delicate scallop made a huge difference to the look. I really liked these.
I grew up in a rural logging community. While no one in my family made their living in the logging industry, it was an integral part of our community. Even our annual festival was established around a logging theme. When I saw this stamp set from Neat and Tangled, I knew it had to be mine. I bought it the first chance I had. Not very often do I try to purchase when the release goes immediately live, but this one, I did.
I’ve been trying to improve my skills at scene building. Some people are so stinkin’ talented at it that I’m intimidated to try. But I’ve learned, if I never try, I’ll never learn. So, to work I have gone. As part of this self-challenge, I saw that Little Tangles challenge #66 is to use ombre. What better way to use an ombre look than in a sky? And a sky is perfect for a scene. Of a cute little logger boy. In watercolor, which can achieve an ombre look. Yes, it was meant to be.
Now I just have to figure out who to give these cards to…
Neat & Tangled Fawned of You stamp
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Licorice ink
Versafine Black Onyx ink
misc – watercolor paper and cardstock
I.adore.this.stamp.set. Yes. I have bought all of the Bible journaling stamps that Neat & Tangled has released, but I think this is my favorite. I have not used them for Bible journaling – I’m still on the fence about creating art in my Bible. (But please don’t think that I’m passing judgment on those who do, it’s just not my thing – for one thing I’m not an artist).
Anyway, I have greatly enjoyed using these stamps for cards! What a blessing they are to send to my brothers and sisters in Christ. I created this card for the Little Tangles Challenge.
I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to fill in the letters. I really enjoy the way they blend with each other on watercolor paper.
